Standard EN ISO 374-5 specifies the requirements and test methods for gloves intended to protect the user against microorganisms.
The standard sets forth that protective gloves against bacteria and fungi, which the biohazard pictogram is applied to, must have passed the penetration and impermeability test. An additional viral penetration test must be taken to protect against viruses.
