Maximum safety both during the day and at night with HI-VIS clothing
More and more sectors need to wear hi-vis clothing: airports, highways, suburban roads, urban roads… It is a smart investment, as well as mandatory, since the employer must protect its employees who work daily in conditions of poor visibility, both during the day and night.
The highly reflective properties make it easily discernible from any background, at day and night and from all angles, including from the rear where it is impossible for them to see.
It’s not just a matter of safety - staying safe by being visible – but also of productivity: in fact, it is certified that safety workwear keeps employees safe while they concentrate on work, having to worry only marginally about the surrounding risks.
The EN ISO 20471:2013 is the European norm that imposes requirements on visible workwear for employees in high-risk areas. This norm replaced the old one, the UNI EN 347:1994 + A1:1998 and it’s divided into 3 Classes, in accordance to the risk zone the operator work in.
The higher the hazard, the higher the surface area of retro-reflective and/or fluorescent material that must be present on the garment.
|Class 1||Class 2||Class 3|
|Reflective Meterial||0,10 m2||0,13 m2||0,20 m2|
|Fluorescent Material||0,14 m2||0,50 m2||0,80 m2|
Are you working at an airport and/or exposed to heavy veicular traffic on urban roads or highways? In such conditions, you need Hi-Vis clothes in Class 3. There are two ways to attain class 3. Either choose an EN ISO 20471 product that is rated class 3 on its own (e.g. our winter jacket Regimental Split) or choose two products that together are class 3 certified (e.g. our set jacket/trousers Mistral Color).
Are you exposed to light veicular traffic close to urban or local roads? Are you driving a truck or a van? In such conditions, you need Hi-Vis clothes in Class 2.
Are you exposed to minor risk of being struck by moving machinery? Are you exposed to very light veicular traffic in a private road? Do you want to be seen to be safer in poor lighting? In such conditions, Hi-Vis clothes in Class 1 are sufficient.
